What is it?
Women in Health Connection™ is an educational event with a "wealth of knowledge in one room" and a benefit. A panel of women health experts respond to questions from an audience of women from the community.
What is the purpose?
Women in Health Connection™ is way for women and health care providers (who are donating their) time to "chat" in an open town-meeting type forum. It provides an opportunity to ask the panel – burning questions that provide practical solutions. The women who attend Women in Health Connection™ events appreciate the unique opportunity and learn some new information and the inspirating behavior change.
How does it work?
Carmela Tafoya, ACSM, Health Fitness Instructor moderates the event. The audience anonymously writes their health questions on index cards, the panel provides a perspective and reply from their point of view. The health topics featured in the event include:
-How can I prevent low back pain?
-When should I seek care, and what type?
-Are any of the popular diets safe for my child?
-Why is knowing Waist/Hip Ratio beneficial for my family?
-How healthy is my heart?
-Can I fortify my own Immune System ?
-Why is running risky for my body?
-Are there easy steps to controlling my Blood Sugar?
-Does exercise help cancer?
-Can a senior build bone mass naturally?
-What else can help my Pregnancy-before, during and after
Who is on the Panel?
The panel consists of health and fitness professionals and/or M.D.'s, PT's and Alternative Care Specialists(see a list of previous panelists below)
Who is the benefit organization?
The proceeds from the event are donated 100% to "Cool Gals Health Secrets™ ", a non-profit project dedicated to providing a FORUM, a CONVERSATION and
